Create your own plant pot using a wheel-thrown pot and various decorating techniques
You will be provided with a plant pot body made on the wheel, and then will get creative with the design and decoration yourself! You will have the opportunity to learn various handbuilding and decorating skills. Your teacher will be there to answer questions and help with techniques along the way.
Your pot will then be fired, and you can come back in to glaze it yourself, or the teacher can glaze it for you. After a second firing, it will be ready to collect.

Bisque firing - this is the initial firing of your piece that will make it ready to glaze.
Glazing - you can either come in and glaze your work yourself OR your instructor can glaze it for you. These options will be discussed in class.
Decorating Techniques

Teacher: Mila
You will be provided with two leather-hard clay tiles, on which you can experiment with the various decorating techniques taught in this class. These will include painting images onto newspaper and transferring them, using paper cutouts to layer images, using brushes and sliptrailers directly on the tile, and sgraffito.
Your tiles will then be fired, and you can come back in to glaze them yourself, or the teacher can glaze them for you. After a second firing, they will be ready to collect.
